From Salò to Limone walking through the Parco alto Garda - The path of Bassa via del Garda
The path of the Bassa Via del Garda (over 50 Km from Salò to Limone), dedicated to Roberto Montagnoli, great admirer and promoter of these areas, was designed to make known and appreciate the extraordinary alternation of landscapes and environmental situations, that allow walking between agaves, palms and olive trees or between centuries-old beeches, gentians and crocuses, only a few hours' walk from one another, to be enveloped in perfumes of jasmine and autumn cyclamen or to cross hills surrounded by cypress trees that rise towards the sky and climb between rocks, ravines and precipices, to cross ancient mule tracks which pavement has been dug by the grooves left over the centuries by the passage of wagons and sleds; to plunge into the high and soaring walls of the lemon groves; to visit small villages and solitary hermitages in tranquility and make a leap in history.
The stages, on little roads or paths at altitudes between 100 and 900 meters, must be walked calmly, rediscovering the taste of looking around and observe the kite's twirling, listen to the call of the birds, savor the fruits of the forest and the perfumes of lawns and gardens.
