Salò is a town rich in history, its roman origins have been traced through archaelogical discoveries from the 2nd and 4th centuries. Pieces of the Medieval town wall remain intact. Capital of a vast domain during the years Venetian dominion (1423-1796), it was nicknamed "La Magnifica Patria." It was also the capital of the "Repubblica Sociale di Salò"
