Great Hotel

We stayed 4 nights at the Hotel Eden in Oct. 2012 and also stayed a few nights there back in Aug. 2009.........A great Hotel, the Folks who run it are fantastic, very friendly and helpful....the Location is right in the middle of Town and you can walk to about anything you might want to see in Salo..........we always drive on our European Vacations and you do have to park 3 or 4 blocks away from the Hotel but not really a very big deal..........I would recommend this Hotel to anyone and plan on going back some day........they have a great breakfast, will cook eggs for you any way you want..........Bill in Texas

Amazing hotel

One of the friendliest staff i have ever encountered in a hotel. It is family run (i think it is brother, sister and dad). Checking in we were welcomed by the guy running the place. He was so helpful and even showed us photos on an iPAD of where we need to go park our car. He even took us up to our room and carried our luggage. He always welcomed you with a smile and was very helpful and suggested places to go to. Bfast in the morning was good. They would get you anything you asked for and would cook it for you (you don't just choose food already set out). Also all the staff's english is really good. Hotel is situated just a few metres away from the lake. It was a great bargain and i would definitely go again. Room and bathroom was very clean and included hair dryer, safe, mini bar etc. Definitely one of the best 3 star hotels i have ever been too and at a very reasonable price.

A real find

This hotel was a real find, so much so that I really want to keep it to myself! We loved our stay in the large family room with fully furnished terrace so much and we could not fault the friendliness and helpfulness of this family run hotel. From initial email contact to checkout our experience was excellent.

Mauro was wonderful, as was his sister, they truly understand the essence of hospitality and nothing was too much trouble. The family room with the terrace was a real delight, and although at first we felt a little exposed sitting out there we soon realised that the windows which overlook it are on the interior corridors and are well curtained so that you are in fact quite private. I don’t think this room is advertised well enough on the website as we were very pleasantly surprised by its outdoor space and furnishings. The furnishings in the room were functional and everywhere was extremely clean. It may not be the most up to date hotel, and it does lack “style” but everything worked well and we were happy with it all. Often hotels are style over substance, here you got a good base to stay, good food, more than adequate accommodations and personal service. We loved it, and I must say here that we travel a lot both for business and pleasure so we are reasonably qualified to make comparisons.

Breakfast is plentiful and includes cooked to order eggs in addition to the usual continental offerings. The dining room is dated but it has a lovely outside terrace and attentive service so that aspect really didn’t bother us. Parking is a slight issue, none at the hotel and very little in the immediate area aside from an expensive municipal car park. However, the hotel does have an arrangement with a car park reasonably close by and this was where we parked for the duration of our eight night stay. We were very surprised how reasonably priced this option was.

The location of the hotel is excellent, close to the archway leading to the old town, and also close to the Lakeside promenade with its plethora of restaurants. We travelled around in the day time to various other lakeside locations and the theme parks (we had our 15 year old son with us!) and then in the evening returned to base, ate out at a local restaurant and then retired to our terrace with a bottle of wine to while away the hours. We loved it.

In short we had a fabulous (and very reasonably priced) holiday with Mauro and his staff at the Hotel Eden and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others who want good rustic accommodations in an excellent location at a fair price. Thanks Mauro, we will be back.

Room Tip: Family room with furnished terrace sleeps up to four

good reasonable priced hotel

booked in for 5 nights in Sept 2012, there were lots of good things about this hotel, our room window opened out onto the roof patio which was nice as in sept not many people used the roof so it was like our own space, maybe a problem in high season as it does limit your privacy, location of hotel was great in centre of town, breakfast was great really good selection of foods
staff were very friendly and helpful.

Only negatives about this hotel is although clean the decor would drive me nuts, its very outdated and a mismatch of colours and style, old curtains in breakfast room which remain closed, bathroom very dated and shower pressure not great.

We checked out after 3 nights due to our change of plans, and hotel staff were very concerned that we were not satisfied with hotel and service,

Dear Guests,
thank you very much for your comments. We are happy to know you enjoyed your stay and liked our service and breakfast.
We know about the room. This is the only room opening onto the public terrace; someone likes it, someone else not ( by the way, the hotel has about 30 rooms, among economy, standard and superior ). Anyway we are going to plan to use this room for other purposes in the next year, so will no longer be available. The bathroom actually is not that old, but Economy Rooms like the one you have booked were intended to offer a basic accommodation to very good value. Definitely not our newest offer, but for sure a good value.
As last room of last floor lower pressure in the shower may have happened. We apologize for that.

We are working hard to constantly offer new services and improve comfort, but this sometimes cannot be done at once. That’s why there is still some “style mismatch”, like the wall colours and curtains of top floor for example, but this will soon be fixed. As usually, we have planned lot of news and changes over winter.
So we look forward to welcoming you again! Thank you!!

Great little hotel

We spent a lovely 5 days at the Eden it's just on the edge of the old town and Mauro the owner is a star; couldn't do enough to make our stay a success. We were sorry to leave and will definitely return! Thanks Mauro

A beautiful honeymoon in Salo

We have spent 5 nights in Hotel Eden at the end of July and beginning of August. The employees of the hotel are friendly and the breakfast is very good and abundant. I recommend this hotel for couples, it is close to the passage and prizes are fair.

Fantastic break

We had a lovely stay. The resort is beautiful and the hotel well placed for ambling through the town square and along the lakeside. Not so 'touristy' as some resorts around Lake Garda. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and did all that they could to ensure our stay was a great one. Bedrooms fine, very clean, we were well looked after. Brerakfast was very good and had a wide choice of good food. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended

Had a great stay here recently. The hotel was very clean and modern with an excellent central location of Salo. The staff were very friendly and very helpful and made us feel welcome all the time. There was a wide selection of foods for breakfast to suit all needs and this again was of good quality.
Would highly recommend it to others and hope to return soon.

Great value

We thought we will stay for a day, end up staying 2. Clean, quiet and owner is very attentive and committed, very good breakfast and also car parking for your car provided which is bit problem in Salo.

Loved it!

We have just spent 8 nights at this hotel and loved everything about it! The owners themselves are so helpful and friendly, you instantly feel at home there. We booked a standard room and it had everything we needed, including a little balcony with table and chairs. The free safe was a bonus as often they are to be paid for. Nice toiletries and fluffy towels in the bathroom too. Breakfast excellent for a 3* hotel, all sorts to tempt you - cereal, fruit, different breads and croissants, jams, ham, cheese, sausage, eggs cooked to order, even little tubs of Panna Cotta, Creme Caramel and cakes if you have a sweet tooth like me!

The location is perfect on the edge of the old town and a short walk from the lake. Plus it's only a short walk to the bus stop for visiting other towns along the west side of the lake. A walk along the promenade brings you to the ferry if you want to visit the other side of the lake.

We love Salo and the Eden and can't wait to go back!

Very pleased

I booked this hotel for a trip for my parents - they just returned and they were so happy with it. They said it was a great family run hotel - the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help, it was really clean and well maintained, the breakfast was really good and they had a nice selection and it was brilliantly located in Salo with the bus stop close by. They said they would be recommending it to everyone. I'm delighted that the hotel lived up to the good reviews on here as the trip was a gift. Also - they fulfilled my requests for them which I greatly appreciate! :)

Just great

We stayed at Eden hotel 2 nights (June 2012). It was a bit over our budget but it was worth. Clean = 100 %, location = 100 %, breakfast = 110 % (you will receive more than you could expect by 3star hotel), service = 110 % (there is allways someone who loves to take care…). This hotel has a lovely and quiet terrace. We will come back…

The best place on lake Garda

Salo is the best town on Garda lake, and the hotel is in the center. We stayed in a basic room which was good value for the money. We loved breakfast and roof terrace - both were excellent!

M&D May 2012

5 of us stayed and had 3 rooms all of which were clean and reasonablly well equiped. The hotel itself was excellent and the service provided by Mauro and his sister could not have been better. Although on the main road the rooms wre very quite and some had a balcony. As a wheelchair user I really appreciated the facilities in their disabled room. Breakfasts were OK but would have appreciated some fresh fruit.

Reply and remarks from Hotel:

We know...that's so much on the breakfast buffet.. that you probably missed the fruit.  :-D
Thank you for the very kind review.
Best regards!

Perfect situation in the centre of Salo in a perfect hotel

Six of us stayed here for one night on a tour around Lake Garda. We choose the budget rooms which were excellent value for the money. The room on the top floor is right next to the roof terrace which is ideal for an apro before heading out on the town. The owner has a true passion about the hotel and similar to other reviews gave us an excellent recommendation for a local restaurant. Although only rated as a three star hotel, it puts many more expensive hotels to shame. Very clean, smiling staff, good quality buffet breakfast and more importantly right in the centre of Salo. Of the hotels we stayed in during our week travelling around, we all agreed that we would be more than happy to return to the Hotel Eden. Room Tip: “Would be worth requesting a Lake view when booking. Go to the restaurant recommend by the owner, it's a genuine recommendation. (Al Cantinone)”

Excellent 3 stars - with caring staff

We spent two nights at Eden Saló when doing a round trip in nothern Italy. The hotel is situated in the middle of Saló, 100 meters from the lake Garda. This is not an exclusive hotel but that is not a big deal. You have a nice room, with a nice beds, very clean. The only minus could be the shower curtain in plastic. The receptionist (owner?) told everything of interrest upon arrival and also recommended some nice restaurants. We have had a car and even if they had their own parking he gave otther cheaper alternatives to choose from. The breakfast was was excellent for a 3 star hotel. A buffet with a almost everything and very tasty. To recommend!

What a view

Right in the centre of town this charming hotel offers you a perfect room with an amazing view over the Lake Garda - and a balcony too.
The rooms are small but there are space enough for your luggage, even a desk to put you small things, camera, phone, wallet etc.etc. The bathroom comes with clean white towels - hot water - waht more to wish. Even a TV. But who cares - watch the real life outside from the terrasse - buy a bottle of Prosecco and enjoy the amazing view. The staff are very smiling and friendly and helps you with parking. The hotel have a nice bar and the breakfast fills you up with fresh made omelets, bread and fruit. Need more - NO. Thanks for a greart stay:-) Ciao

Room Tip: 23 on 4th floor -excelent view 79 euro.

Dear Sir,
thank you very much for taking time to write a review. We are sorry the room did not match your expectations. Although Standard rooms are provided with a folding luggage rack, we would have been pleased to suggest you a more spacious room, like our Classic or Comfort rooms.
We take all reviews ( i.e. all reviews from all our Guests ) very seriously and hope to count you in the future among our satisfied customers!

Kindest regards,

Fantastic Hotel - Def use again......

Could not wish for a better hotel. Fantastic position right next to the entrance to the old town and only 5 minutes from the beautiful lake promenade. The staff are so friendly and helpful and even recommended and booked restaurants for us that were excellent and good value for money. Although basic, the rooms were clean and new towels provided each day. We opted for a Comfort Double, which was more than adequate for our needs. For us this hotel offered superb value for money and Salo is a fantastic place to use as a base. The breakfast was also excellent and can certainly set you up for the day. We will definitely be going back and recommending the Hotel Eden to friends and family..

Room Tip: It is on a main road but there are quiet rooms at the back of the hotel

Hotel Eden, Salo

Salo is one of the prettiest resorts on Lake Garda and this hotel is very conveniently situated just 2 minutes from the promenade. We arrived without having reserved car parking in advance but the receptionist helpfully explained the options for parking & we easily found free street parking just minutes from the hotel. The room was lovely, with a balcony, TV and air con & the bathroom was huge & brand new. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of hot & cold choices & the chef was always on hand making sure everyone had what they wanted. A lovely hotel & good value for money - would happily stay there again.

All the good comments are true!

....particularly about the location, the courtesy and helpfulness of the proprietors and staff, and the breakfast. The local wine deserves a mention too. We've been there two years in a row, and will be back.

Excellent Service

From the initial email inquiry we received excellent service. Mauro promised us the family room with views over to the lake and he did not disappoint. We had a decent size room which had bunk beds for the kids and a huge private balcony complete with table and sunloungers. Nothing seemd to much trouble - from offering advice on where to shop and dine to the extensive breakfast that was freshly prepared.
Everything in the hotel is very clean, and although some may describe parts as basic we were more than happy.
The only slight issue was the parking in that it is a little distance from the hotel but it is extremly cheap as was the room considering the excellent service provided.

Good value, clean hotel

Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is in a good location close to the lakeside and restaurants. Relatively easy to find. Paid parking nearby in square, but hotel provides a discounted rate (EUR4.00) for covered parking at nearby supermarket (5-10 mins walk). Access card for covered parking can be collected from reception. Car can be temporarily parked outside hotel for luggage drop off/pick up. Large rooms, air-conditioned, comfortable beds. Good breakfast with hot options provided. Free Wi-fi access available in reception. Nice rooftop terrace overlooking Lake Garda.
We would have given 5 stars if free parking had been adjacent to the hotel.

Higly recommended

My wife and I stayed in a superior double room, with a dream view overlooking the square and the lake.
The hotel staff are extremely helpful, give good advice and speak fluent English.
Breakfasts are marvellous.
Everything is very clean.
I especially appreciated the small touches, such as the provision of a complementary disposable razor and bedroom slippers.
The hotel is only a couple of minutes from the bus-stop, so access is very simple, and it is easy to catch a bus to other lakeside venues.
Highly recommended.
